this might be tough, but it is not impossible

hi friends! today’s blog inspo comes from a memory. two years ago tomorrow actually, was the anniversary of my first half marathon in Waco, Texas! it was the Silo District Race Weekend, hosted by Magnolia and the iconic Chip + Joanna Gaines. where’s my Fixer Upper people at? now you’re probably asking yourself, “another race story again?” yes, I know I talk about running a lot, but it’s not just running for me. it’s something that has allowed me meet new people, travel , and gain so many life lessons! when my family traveled to Waco for the race, we went for the whole Magnolia experience, visiting the Silos, shops, and more. getting to see what Magnolia Market truly was made us so happy, even more so that they had everything decked out for my upcoming race. while visiting the Market after I picked up my race supplies, I came across this sign, stating that “this may be tough, but it’s not impossible.” the area was littered with inspirational quotes, even on banners and signs during the race, but this one stuck out to me the most. it swirled in my mind that as I was training, putting in 11, 12 miles in each weekend before the race, it was tough - but not impossible. not impossible because I overcame every physical and mental hurdle that I had faced before that, and if I hadn’t, I wouldn’t be where I was. as I started the running the race the next day, I felt great, strong, capable. as I continued on through the beautiful yet challenging hills of Waco, I felt a little less strong, because fatigue was setting in, but I felt equally as capable. never did it cross my mind that I would stop running or not finish those 13.1 miles because it was tough, but not impossible. I proudly finished my race, out of breath and limping a little, but smiling because I conquered my goals. all this to say, this quote has always stuck with me, and I hope it does with you. not only can we draw from this in any athletic or physical struggles we may face, but just with life as a whole. James 1:3 states to “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” nobody wants to say that they are going to go through tough times, but everyone will - it’s just a part of life. what you can control is how you react to those tough times. will you back down and deem them impossible to get through? or will you charge on, summoning the strength that God gives you? take the latter option my friends, knowing that by moving forward, you are building your perseverance and your future abilities! you are capable, remember that things may be tough, but they are not impossible!

also, if you ever get the chance to visit Magnolia Market, absolutely do it, go. Waco has a piece of my heart ♡
