what’s your why?

impromptu blog post, short but sweet! this is why I love this platform, I can share my heart with y’all almost instantly. I wrote this last night, about my ‘why’, but I wanted to share it today…

today’s workout was good, and to be honest, I needed a decompress. if you know me personally, I’m a pretty busy person, and this week is no exception. between classwork, personal projects, and just life, there were a million things swirling in my brain today, leaving me physically and mentally spent. I wondered “why should I even go outside today? I’m so tired…” but, I laced up my sneakers, cranked up the music, crushed a good 6 miles, and even did a core workout after. why did I end up going out when I felt like I couldn’t? because running is a decompress. for a good hour, I was able to focus on one thing - putting out my maximum effort. my hour of power, if you will, reminded me that even in the midst of busyness, that things are still in my control, so I can take the time to relax and do something I enjoy. all this to say, this is coming from a person that is sweaty but happy. tired but fulfilled. a person in touch with their ‘why’. as long as I’m living this life that God gave me, I want to use it to live with purpose, passion + intention. I inspire you to take a look at what you do, find your ‘why’, and channel it daily. don’t do things because others think you should do it, do them because you want to. happy soul searching my friends!
